A company introductory video is essentially a video version of your website’s “About Page.” Videos, however, are a much more dynamic and engaging way to introduce your company to prospective customers. They allow you to capture more substance by showing who your team and company are.

In a way, they look a lot like brand videos. But an introductory video may focus more specifically on your team and telling your story by highlighting who you are, where it all started, and what you do. You can also dive more into who your ideal customers are and why.

A great example before we jump in is the video we created with our clients North Park Transportation. They are a freight company that services a region across 6 states. Starting from humble beginnings, the company has grown tremendously over a span of more than 75 years. The video we produced for them highlights their team, values, and more. It’s really wonderful the way this video puts a face and personality to their trucking company.

3 Perks of Creating a Company Introductory Videos

  1. Humanize Your Company

  2. Behind the Scenes

  3. Shareable Asset

  1. Humanize Your Company

With so many options for everything these days, people are more likely to work with and purchase from companies that feel like they are run by real, good people. Company introductory videos bring companies to life in this way. Instead of text on an About page, you now have real people talking to you. Viewers can get a real sense of the many people who make your company go around. And, you have a way to show the personality and energy of your team.

There isn’t one way or style when it comes to an introductory video. It should be entirely unique to you and embody the style that best represents what you do and how you do it. For example, sharing how your employees take special care for things to be done correctly or ways you have demonstrated expertise over a long span of time. Instead of you being just a company or a business, your prospective clients think of you as trustworthy because they can relate to you as a person.

Side note: A professional video production company can help you build on the tone through camera work, editing, and music. Noble Bison Productions is a local Denver video production company, but we work with companies across the nation. Please reach out if you need a professional team for your video project!

2. Behind the Scenes

Everyone loves behind the scenes! Regardless of your industry, there’s a lot more to what you do than what meets the eye. And an introductory video is a great way for your customers to get a look into your company’s operations and workflow.

In the North Park Transportation video, our director made a point to capture the many facets of their company. From inside the offices, where they’re answering phones and handling paperwork, to the workers cleaning trucks or moving freight.

Layering in nice detail shots, a thoughtful timelapse, or drone footage of the facility can all show so much of who your company is to your audience. Viewers feel like they “know” you, which is appealing for consumers. You may have something specifically appealing for your ideal type of customer. For instance, if you source from somewhere local or label items by hand, those are the type of details that are nice to show, as they speak to a certain demographic.

Can you think of spaces that most of your customers have maybe never seen or even know about? What are some of the hands-on, laborious, or even simplest tasks that take place behind the scenes of your company? These things are what make your company what it is — show it off!

3. Shareable Asset

What’s great about having an introductory video is that it’s a marketing asset that is 100% shareable. Aside from it being a quality piece of content for your website, it’s something that you can easily spread across different social platforms, in presentations, and in prospective communications, like emails.

In this way, a quality, genuine introductory video is worth creating to gain brand awareness, lead generation, and industry positioning. Again, this is especially true when compared to its alternative: a webpage. It’s been shown that the majority of people much prefer to learn and consume information through videos. Not only are they more engaging than plain text, but videos are exceedingly more memorable to your audience.

Tips to Get Started:

Brainstorm talking points and shoot locations for your company’s introductory video by considering these questions:

  • What’s your company story?

  • How long have you been around?

  • Where does everything take place?

  • Who are your ideal clients/customers?

  • What makes your company different?

  • Who are your key players/employees/team/show us real people who make it happen?

To conclude, company introductory videos add dimension to who your company is and its operations. This helps prospective clients see your business as more professional, trustworthy, and relatable (if it’s a quality video, of course). This makes your company more attractive to consumers in your industry, giving you an edge over your competitors.
