Bio - Our very own Jeffrey Riley plays in an instrumental band called Liontortoise and you can watch him rocking out on a frozen lake in this music video for the track “Photosynthesis.” Finding this lake was quite a logistical challenge that resulted in many phone calls asking for permission and being told to contact someone else. After a few days, we decided to just try our luck and hope that no one kicks us out. During our tech scout, we actually witnessed a rescue by helicopter and about 10 snowmobiles. We were very thankful that we didn’t shoot on that day. This lake can be found near Breckenridge and is in fact an actual frozen lake that we stood on. In addition to the extremely cold temperatures that we had to endure for about 7 hours, we also had to carry all of the band’s gear and film gear up a 2 mile hike in the snow with small sleds pulled with ropes. On the post-side we went through 2 different VFX friends who wanted to help out with the planet you can see in the sky, but both times had something pressing take all of their time away from working on the project, so Jeff had to learn how to composite, and motion track all himself to fully realize the vision of this video.
