Fitness journeys are very personal, so aside from logistical factors, like location or cost, choosing a gym or personal trainer isn’t something most people do without a bit of research beforehand. Video advertisements are such a great asset for gyms in this way because you can show off your facility, community culture, and specialties.

Noble Bison Productions has worked with a handful of local gyms creating video adverts that highlight each of their unique features. Because every gym and trainer are distinct from one another, each looks wildly different than the last. Your gym advertisements should speak to your style, quality, and central focuses. Let’s take a look at the list below to see the various ways you can do this.

RELATED: 5 Types of Videos Every Gym and Fitness Trainer Should Be Creating

1. Denver Bouldering Club

The video we made for Denver Bouldering Club is a great example of how you can answer questions for prospective members in a personalized, engaging way. Though everyone in the video is an employee, the advert is framed as if the desk employee is answering FAQs of people who just walked into their establishment.

They cover a lot of topics, like their membership options, locations, frequency of wall resets, the culture, and unique perks, like how they’re dog friendly. The editing, music, and lighting we used help tie in the energy and liveliness of their gym culture, something that all gym adverts should aim for.

As a member of this gym, I can say that this ad highlights Denver Bouldering Club well. Their atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, but they also seriously crush at setting boulder problems and challenging their members.

2. Ironclad Strength & Conditioning

Ironclad Strength & Conditioning is a short ad we created for a local personal trainer named Christian. These adverts are great to show potential clients the type of trainer you are, your expertise, experience, and the things they can expect by choosing you as a trainer. We worked closely with Christian to produce a video that felt personal to him. Through telling a bit of his back story and showing him with his current clients, we were able to emphasize his passion and dedication to fitness and health.

If you’re a personal trainer wanting to create an advertisement, you may consider the story behind why you became a trainer and in what ways you are qualified to mentor others on their fitness journey. What things can you share, both verbally and visually, that would make you a trustworthy and attractive candidate for someone looking for a personal trainer?

3. Mountain Strong

Noble Bison Productions has produced multiple video advertisements for the local Denver gym Mountain Strong. We consider this video their “Brand Anthem” advert because it shows different elements that make Mountain Strong what it is without getting into the thick of answering FAQs or doing interviews. Instead, we’re seeing somewhat of a sizzle reel of their gym community: teamwork, dedication, recovery, and high-intensity workouts in and outside of the gym space.

This style is a way for gyms to share the energy of their space and members. The way it was filmed and the pacing of the edit captures the feeling of working out itself. It’s quick, energetic, and upbeat. It grabs your attention and gets you psyched. Our owner/director Jeff Riley went all out with this one, and it continues to be one of my favorites in our portfolio.

4. Mountain Strong (Mini Advert)

Here’s a different, shorter video advertisement we created with the lovely people at Mountain Strong. They wanted to show the interplay between what we do in the gym and our outdoorsy lifestyles. To do this, we filmed members training in the gym and on real outdoor routes to underscore how the two environments build on one another to create a well-rounded athlete.

It’s a pretty cool concept to shoot an advert both at your gym and outdoors if your facility focuses on training and strengthening people who have outdoor hobbies, such as rock climbing, skiing, biking, etc. It makes for a dynamic video that your ideal members can easily relate to.

5. CrossFit IPA

The CrossFit IPA video advertisement that we filmed is a more traditional advertisement that incorporates interviews from the owners, trainers, and current members. This approach is really great for CrossFit IPA because they have such a strong communal culture within their gym. By incorporating these authentic interviews and connecting you with their people, viewers get a great glimpse into what it’s like to join their gym.

A highly communicative advert like this one is a great choice for gyms that are supportive and communal with their members. It’s important to consider your ideal customers in this way because some people prefer a gym that is more like a community in this way, whereas others may want to work out solo. Your advert should be a celebration of YOU.

To conclude, many factors play into where people choose to strengthen and improve themselves, but there are a variety of ways to create gym advertisements that will speak to your ideal members or clients. Whether it’s by incorporating off-the-cuff interviews, writing a script, or shooting stunning footage that tells a visual story, you’ll want to think about how you can best show what makes your facility a better choice. Maybe you need a few different adverts that focus on certain aspects one at a time. But regardless of what you want to create, keep in mind that working with a professional video production company will give you more options for high-quality, creative adverts that viewers will remember.
